Find an Attorney
We are working toward the
creation of our own online database of attorneys who are
qualified in specific practice areas. We hope to be able to make
it available to you soon. Until then, the following are some
suggestions you might want to use to help you find an attorney.
-
Go to your state bar
association's web site. Most of the state bar associations
post on their web site the profile and contact information
of their attorney members.
-
Contact your local (county,
city) bar association. Most local bar associations have a
web site by now, and a referral service you can use.
-
Ask family members and
friends. They may know attorneys they have worked with in
the past, and they may be comfortable recommending them to
you.
-
Use other online resources.
You can find online miscellaneous attorney referral
services. Also, many attorneys have their own website.
Note. In all situations,
but especially if you use the last suggestion, you have to be
very careful about screening potential candidates. To start, you
should have a clear set of factors in mind you will use to help
you find the attorney who is right for you. Some of the factors
you might want to consider are: attorney's experience,
reputation, attorney's fee, law firm size, likeability,
location, etc.
All the above suggestions are
offered to you for informational purposes only.
